Hey, the concept of the image juxtaposed onto the word, this sounds interesting. Maybe you can elaborate more? Also, ‘language’ meaning ‘abolisher’ in arabic, wow!
I also believe the initial and original meaning of words has been deliberately destroyed. It’s like, at some point, each thing had its name or word. The thing and the word, were unseparated, one.
Then.. something happened and somehow.. the names of things has been separated from the things, and then the different names were attributed to things which they didn’t belonged to originally.
The words and the things were mixed between them.. like in a frankensteinic messed up puzzle. This is when abominations of creations started to unfold, since abominated words.. always end up in abominated physical realities. This is when the so called “pandora’s box” opened and all the freaks and monsters of the world got loose. A monstrous word = a monstrous world.
After this catastrophic “event” nothing made sense, since.. the original meaning of things has been lost. This coincided with the great sleep or the veil of darkness setting upon the minds of humanity. This is when things stopped responding to our will.. since we forgot their true names, their true meaning. Their origin.
Restoring our perception to its true natural sense, must come, at some point – I believe – with our memory of the original names and words, being fully restored as well. I haven’t yet read the book, but it caught powerfully my attention since the first time I heard about it: Tales from Earthsea, by Ursula K. Le Guin. I know that in this book and the others from the series, the power of true names is deeply emphasised and is one of the main themes.
