The True Sense of Perception

The following text was written as a comment on this video.

In this video the author was presenting its views on the apparent unintelligent design of this creation and nature. Questioning why Nature appears to be full of plants that can kill us, for many edible plants having poisonous look-alikes, and some other ideas.

“Hey, loved to see someone inquiring and asking questions about why things are the way they are.

The way I see the relationship between people and nature is as follows: I feel that, in its original and natural form, our Human Mind is able to perceive the world around through a sort of True Sense of Perception. Through this True Sense of Perception the original human being is able to look at a plant, a tree, a fruit – anything really – and KNOW instantly if that plant is edible or not, what is its composition, how should it be prepared, and many.. many more things. In this way the original human being is capable to fully apprehend and asses.. what plants need to be eaten, what plants need to be used for medicine, what plants need to be used for other purposes, and so on.

Basically through the True Sense of Perception one is able to KNOW what things really are and how things should be used, according with their intended purpose and design.

I feel that it is the apparent loss of this true or natural sense of perception that is causing humanity many of its troubles.
As without this natural sense of perception, one basically becomes blind, not seeing things as they are, not knowing how to correctly use the things around.. and thus.. when one is blind one can easily be lead into detrimental actions and choices.

I feel that this true natural sense of perception was available to humanity not too long ago. I feel that this is how humanity was able to know what plants to eat, what fruits were good or bad, etc. The idea that humanity just made trial and error, eating things randomly and seeing what kills and what doesn’t feels like a joke.

And I feel that there might have been a certain event after which this natural sense of perception was lost, as if a veil was casted upon the mind of humanity, making humanity fall into a deep sleep. I could assume this event was akin to the mythological fall of the tower of Babel, where people forgot the true names of things.

And from my experience so far, it appears like this True Sense of Perception can be restored. Through this process of quieting the mind, and looking at a thing with an empty mind, clear and free of all expectations, all beliefs, everything one has ever heard or read about the thing it is looking at.. I feel that if we re-learn to meet the world around us in this way, this natural sense of perception might be gradually restored.

In this way the world around can start opening up, as if it would be a language that we remember how to read.”
